Getting here
From Dewsbury town centre, follow Bradford Road (A652) towards Batley and you are at Greenhill Mills on Grange Road in under ten minutes - it is an easy run even at school-run time. Coming from Ravensthorpe or Savile Town, cut through on Mill Street East and you will not touch a main road for long.
What locals store
Dewsbury customers are mostly moving house between sales, clearing space during renovations, or market and online traders who need somewhere secure for stock a short hop from home. With 24/7 phone-entry access you can call at the container on the way to or from town whenever suits.
Every container comes with a high-quality padlock, sits behind gates with 24/7 motion-sensing CCTV, and opens on rolling monthly terms with just 14 days' notice. Questions? See our FAQs or read what fits in a 20ft container.
Sizes
Batley is the only one of our four yards that offers all three, which matters if a 20ft container is more space than you actually need.
If you're not sure which way to go, the 20ft size guide lays out what fits, and we'd rather talk you into a smaller unit than take money for space you won't use.
Parking and access
Greenhill Mills is a working industrial yard rather than a converted shop unit, so there's hard standing throughout and enough room to swing a Luton or a 7.5 tonne lorry round to the container doors. You park at your own unit and load straight off the tailgate - no lift, no corridor, no trolley, and no booking a loading bay for a two-hour slot. Removal firms know the site and are used to getting in and out of it.
Access runs 24 hours a day on a gate you open from your phone, so if the only time you can shift boxes is nine at night after work, that's fine. The office is staffed Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm and weekends 10am to 6pm if you'd rather have someone about the first time you come.
Getting here
From Dewsbury town centre it's Bradford Road (A652) north towards Batley, then right onto Grange Road - under ten minutes, and it holds up even at school-run time. From Ravensthorpe and Savile Town, cut through on Mill Street East and you barely touch a main road; allow twelve minutes. Thornhill and Earlsheaton come in on the A644 and A653 in about fifteen. Chickenley and Shaw Cross are closer to twelve on the A653.
If you're coming off the motorway, J40 of the M1 or J27 of the M62 both feed onto the A652 and put you at the gate in ten minutes or so.
Quick answers
Not one of ours, no - and that's worth knowing before you drive around looking. The nearest container storage to Dewsbury town centre is our Batley yard on Grange Road, about two miles out. Several big-name facilities appear in Dewsbury searches but sit eight or nine miles away in Leeds or Huddersfield, so check the postcode before you book anything.
Batley is the only one of our four yards with 8ft containers, and it's the one that serves Dewsbury. An 8ft is about 65 sq ft - right for a one-bed flat, a garage clear-out or a few pallets of stock. Numbers are limited, so if you want one it's worth asking early rather than assuming.
A refundable deposit is taken with your first payment - £75 on an 8ft container and £150 on a 20ft. It comes back to you in full when you leave, provided the container is emptied and left as you found it. It isn't rent in advance and it isn't a fee.
Fourteen days, and it runs from the day we receive it rather than to the end of the month. Rent runs by the calendar month, so if you're planning to go it's worth giving notice at least 14 days before the month end - see our terms for exactly how that works.
Yes. Greenhill Mills is a proper industrial yard with hard standing and room to turn, so a Luton or a 7.5 tonne lorry is no problem, and you can reverse right up to the container doors. There's no lift, no corridor and no loading bay to book - you park at your unit.
