What locals store
Being this close changes how people use storage: Heckmondwike customers pop in little and often - swapping seasonal kit, dropping a van load after a clear-out, or running a small business from a container they can reach in minutes.
Every container comes with a high-quality padlock, sits behind gates with 24/7 motion-sensing CCTV, and opens on rolling monthly terms with just 14 days' notice. Questions? See our FAQs or read what fits in a 20ft container.
Which yard
Heckmondwike is the closest town to our Liversedge yard - under a mile from the market place, and a couple of minutes in the car down the A638 through Millbridge. For most people that settles it.
The one reason to go further is size. Liversedge runs 20ft containers, about 160 sq ft each, plus six indoor units at 200 to 340 sq ft. If you only want a garage's worth of space, Batley has 8ft containers at roughly 65 sq ft, and it's eight minutes up the A638. Paying for a 20ft when an 8ft would do is the commonest mistake we talk people out of.
Quick answers
From the town centre end, yes - Liversedge is under a mile and it's a fifteen-minute walk. Fine for dropping off a couple of boxes, though most people bring the car for anything heavier.
Liversedge is closer, at a couple of minutes, and it's 20ft containers and a few indoor units. Batley is eight minutes up the A638 and is the only site with 8ft containers, so if a 20ft is more space than you need, the extra six minutes is worth it.
Yes. The gate opens from your phone, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, bank holidays included. No slot to book and nobody to meet. The office is staffed Monday to Friday 9am - 6pm and weekends 10am - 6pm.
£150 on a 20ft container and £75 on an 8ft, taken with your first payment. It comes back in full when you leave, provided the unit is emptied and left as you found it. It isn't rent in advance and it isn't an admin fee.
Fourteen days, running from the day we receive it rather than to the end of the month. Rent runs by the calendar month, so if you know you're going it pays to tell us at least 14 days before the month ends.
We supply a good padlock with every unit, so there's nothing to buy on the way. Contents insurance is down to you - many home policies extend to goods in storage, but ring your insurer rather than assume.
