Our Batley yard is easy to reach from across North Kirklees, including Dewsbury, Birstall, Heckmondwike and the surrounding villages - with straightforward drive-up access right to your unit door.
Greenhill Mills sits in Soothill, so it's the natural choice for Hanging Heaton, Staincliffe and the rest of Batley, as well as Birstall up the road. It's also the yard behind our storage for Dewsbury, about two miles away on Bradford Road (A652).

Batley is our flagship site and the only one of our four yards that offers all three - 20ft containers, 8ft containers and indoor units.
- 20ft containers - about 160 sq ft, roughly a single garage. Takes a two to three bedroom house including white goods.
- 8ft containers - about 52 sq ft. Right for a one-bed flat, a garage clear-out or a few pallets. Batley only, and numbers are limited.
- Indoor units - from small storerooms up to 2,700 sq ft of warehouse space, for firms that need shelving, a bench or somewhere to pick orders.
Everything is drive-up. You park at your own door on hard standing, load off the tailgate and go - no lift, no corridor, no loading bay to book. If you're not sure which size you need, the 20ft size guide lays it out, and we'd rather put you in a smaller unit than sell you space you won't use.

Where exactly is the Batley yard?
Greenhill Mills, Grange Road, Soothill, Batley WF17 6LL - put the postcode in your sat nav and it takes you to the gate. From Dewsbury it's straight up Bradford Road (A652) and onto Grange Road, under ten minutes. Junction 40 of the M1 and junction 27 of the M62 both feed onto the A652 and put you at the gate in ten minutes or so.
Can I get into my Batley container 24/7?
Yes. The gate opens from your phone at any hour, seven days a week, including bank holidays. The office is staffed Monday to Friday 9am - 6pm and weekends 10am - 6pm if you'd rather have someone about the first time you come.
What sizes of storage are there in Batley?
Batley is the only one of our sites with all three: 20ft drive-up containers (about 160 sq ft, a two to three bedroom house), 8ft containers (about 52 sq ft, a one-bed flat or a garage clear-out) and indoor warehouse units up to 2,700 sq ft. Liversedge and Leeds are 20ft containers only. The size guide shows what fits in each.
Can I drive right up to my unit?
Yes - everything at Batley is drive-up. Greenhill Mills is a working industrial yard with hard standing throughout and room to turn a 7.5 tonne lorry, so you reverse right up to the container doors and load off the tailgate. No lift, no corridor, no loading bay to book.
How quickly can I move in?
Often the same day. Get your quote, book online with one card payment, and we confirm your unit, hand over your padlock and set up your phone gate access. You can book up to a week ahead of the day you want to move in.
What deposit do you take, and when do I get it back?
A refundable deposit is taken with your first payment - £150 on a 20ft container and £75 on an 8ft. You get it back in full when you leave, provided the unit is emptied and left as you found it. It's a deposit, not a fee, and it isn't rent in advance.
How much notice do I need to give?
Fourteen days, running from the day we receive your notice rather than to the end of the month. Rent runs by the calendar month, so if you're planning to leave it's worth telling us at least 14 days before the month end.
Is my stuff insured?
Your contents remain your responsibility, so you'll want your own cover. Plenty of home insurance policies extend to goods in storage - it's worth ringing your insurer to check rather than assuming either way.
